Hardwood Care & Maintenance Guide
Keep your floors beautiful for generations with proper care
Weekly: Vacuum with a floor-brush attachment or use a microfiber mop with a hardwood floor cleaner. Never use wet mops or steam cleaners, as excess moisture can damage wood.
Fall/Winter: Use humidifiers to maintain proper moisture levels and prevent gaps between boards. Apply a fresh coat of polish every 3-4 months for extra protection.
• Trim pet nails regularly
• Remove shoes with cleats or spikes
• Clean spills immediately
• Rearrange rugs periodically to ensure even aging
• Keep out of direct sunlight when possible to prevent fading
• Deep scratches exposing raw wood
• Gray or black discoloration
• Boards cupping or crowning
• Finish worn through to wood
• Water damage or staining
Most hardwood floors can be refinished 5-7 times over their lifetime, making them a truly sustainable flooring choice.
